Great Power, Great Responsibility

My fanzine, ‘Great Power, Great Responsibility’ is a direct reference to one of the most famous Marvel quotes. The full quote was too long for the title of a fanzine so I shortened the quote down. My target audience is everyone as I wanted my fanzine to be as inclusive as possible. I researched into the superhero genre and found out that the amount of females who are watching superhero films has risen in the past few years. This has changed from a time when, stereotypically, only males would want to watch a superhero film and these types of films were only marketed towards men. I had to make sure my fanzine appealed to both genders by using gender neutral terms to make sure it appealed to anyone who is a superhero fan. As my target audience may range from being big superhero fans to people who watch a superhero film every once in a while. For my fanzine to work, I had to include pieces of information that would benefit average fans and that also work as a reminder for bigger fans. My article on Infinity War is an example of this. I have researched into theories surrounding the film and worded them appropriately so my target audience can read it without having to go and re-watch the franchise just to understand what is going on within Infinity War. My fanzine is mostly target towards 12 to 21 year olds, although my fanzine is targeted towards anyone of any age, this is my primary targeted audience. In response to this, my fanzine had to be light-hearted with no inappropriate language. Instead, I added jokes and references so people are able to pick up on these easily. My fanzine will be distributed and sold at a cheap price at £1.99. The reason I did this is because as my fanzine is primarily targeted towards students, they will be in low paying jobs and not want to pay a lot of money for a fanzine. This way, people can source the money to pay for the fanzine.
