Every director and actor has to start somewhere. They have to get themselves out there and the best way of doing so is the submit their work into film festivals. cities like London and Manchester host an annual film festival. this year, I went to the Manchester Film Festival. Whilst there, I had the opportunity to watch "The Subject". For me, being able to see other director's films is a great way of getting inspiration. the director of the film is also a woman which made me connect instantly to the film. after a series of questions, we found out that the film cost around £20,000 to make. this included locations, technology and the cast. Although the film festival did not meet up to my first expectations, I found the experience to be educational and I was able to ask the lead actress, Alice Bird, a question. I asked 'As a woman wanting to go into the film industry, what you say is the best way of breaking into the industry?' From this, Alice Bird told me to get as much of my work out there as possible.
