Aloha Wanderwell Baker (DePrest, n.d.) was a director, cinematopgrapher and an actress. Baker’s career stretched over twenty-five years and her career allowed her to see over fifty countries. Idris Galcia Hall was from America and found that her work took her all over the globe. Aloha Wanderwell Barker is her stage name and was inspired by an expedition, led by a Walter Wanderwell. The first feature film that Baker was involved in was titled”With Car & Camera around the World” and it documented hers Walter’s and their crew’s expedition from 1921 to 1929. Walter Wanderwell was killed and his body nor the suspect have ever been found. Before retiring, she gave one last performance in 1982 as a travel lecturer the National History Museum. The way that Baker was able to mix her passions such as travelling and directing is something I admire deeply. I enjoy doing different things such as acting, writing and directing and I would like my passions to entwine into a career. The way that Baker also kept going and juggled her personal life and career is something I idolise and also relate to a lot. Being able to turn your hobbies into potential careers is something I am planning on doing and the fact she never gave up is really inspirational to me.
