The Screenplay - "Her Name" (UNFORMATTED)

FADE IN:

INT. A BEDROOM – DAY

TESSA is lay on her bed with her headphones in her ears with her eyes closed. She rolls onto her side and sighs. She pulls her teddy bear into her and holds it in her hands.

TESSA pushes her blonde hair out of her eyes and sits up and stretches her arms up and rubs her eyes. She looks at herself in the mirror and sticks her tongue out at her reflection.

TESSA stands up and walks to the window. She opens the curtains and sits on the floor next to the radiator.

She starts to breathe deeply. She pulls her knees up and closes her eyes.

She opens her eyes and picks up her phone. Next her, there is a ripped piece of paper with the name “Reece” on it. The number has been accidentally ripped from underneath it.

She rolls her eyes at the lack of messages and throws her phone onto her bed. She frowns at her phone then puts her hands on her hips.

She stands up and tries to reach up to her shelf up on her wall, but she is too small. She stands on her bed and takes a book from off her shelf and opens it to the bookmarked page. She grabs her phone from her bed and sits down on the carpet and starts to read.

She flicks the page over, then looks at her phone in disappointment. She locks it and carries on reading her book.

FADE OUT:

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

TESSA is sat on a sofa in the living room with her book and phone and the piece of ripped paper. She looks up from her book and reads the name.

She keeps reading her name over and over and using her finger to trace over the name.

TESSA unlocks her phone and checks her messages again. She yawns and sinks further into the sofa. She sits up and pushes her hair into a ponytail and sighs loudly.

TESSA gets off the sofa and walks to the roses in the vase. She places her finger carefully on the dying flowers and smiles. She folds her arms and looks up at the ceiling. She blows her hair out of her face and sits back to the sofa.

Her phone buzzes and TESSA picks it up, her hands shaking. She unlocks the phone and then locks it again. She is disappointed. She shakes her head as she puts her phone onto the table.

She looks out of the window and onto the street. She looks miserable as she walks away.

She looks back at the piece of paper then closes her eyes.

She scrunches the piece of paper up and continues reading.

FADE OUT:

INT. A BEDROOM - DAY

TESSA places the piece of paper inside of her book and places the book on her shelf. She looks back at her reflection and tries to smile at herself but then frowns.

She reaches to grab the leather jacket from the back of her door and puts it on.

TESSA puts her shoes on and tightens her ponytail.

She is about to leave her room when her phone buzzes. She picks her phone up and unlocks her phone.

TESSA smiles down at her phone and opens the message.

On her phone, TESS reads a message from Reece. The message says that Reece accidentally lost her number but then found it.

TESSA rings Reece and smiles.
